First up was Don. He greeted us with the perennial favorite, Hammond of Texas's, "YEEEEE-HAAAAAW!" Never fails to make me smile. He read several selections, mentioning that Creation had asked him to keep things light-hearted since he's wont to take a serious turn. In honor of our Texas location, he chose to read first from Baxter Black, a large animal vet cum cowboy poet. He also read from a local magazine (Texas Monthly) and lyrics from Willie Nelson and then read a song about Willie Nelson. He's a Willine fan, if you hadn't guessed.
